Democratic Party Chairman Sali Berisha urged Prime Minister Edi Rama to pay the salaries of the police and military instead of stealing money buying drones and satellites.

“Instead of increasing the salaries of the soldiers, officers, police effectives, Edi Rama thinks only how to steal through the purchases of drones and satellites”, Berisha wrote, referring to the purchase of two Bayraktar drones from Turkey and plans to launch two satellites.

Berisha also asked about the price of drones bought from the Turkish company, which has not been made public so far by the Albanian government.

“Tell us, how much did you pay for the drones? You don’t tell the price, because you embezzle money. Everywhere in the world, everything that is bought has a price which is told to the people. Here everything is decided like in caves”, wrote the former Prime Minister.

“You could have used that money to increase the salaries of soldiers. Nearly half of the Albanian soldiers have resigned because they cannot afford living with the miserable salaries they are paid. Let’s pay the soldiers, officers, police first, then buy the satellites”.
