Kosovo President Vjosa Osmani spoke about her relations with Albanian Premier Edi Rama, saying he is saving Serbian regime’s face with his suggestion of not pressuring Serbia too much to join Western sanctions against Russia.

Osmani did not say if she expects an improvement in their relations, but said they are official whereas the personal rapports among the politicians are “totally insignificant”.

She said “it is not fair” to find excuses why Serbia has not joined sanctions against Russia, hinting at Edi Rama’s declaration a few days ago.

According to the Kosovo President, “this is a facesaving policy”, it is saving the face of a regime in Serbia that also served during Slobodan Milosevic’s tenure.

“Also, I do not think Serbian crimes in Kosovo should be reduced to ‘ethnic cleansing’ because what happened in Kosovo was genocide and it should be called by its real name”, Osmani told VOA.
