Former Albanian President Ilir Meta welcomed the installation of a DEA representative in the country, saying the US agency should have one of its biggest overseas centers in Albania.

“Based on the international data, DEA should have had one of its most important centers in Albania, considering the volume of the drugs traffic. The dimensions are extraordinary and in disproportion with our country’s geographic and demographic size. It is a very preferred country for the traffickers. The fight against drugs has been a priority for ten years, but it has stagnated”, said Meta.
