The Democratic Party has revealed new facts regarding the €430 million affair of the waste incinerators.

The member of the Democrat National Council Akil Kraja read a statement of the party revealing that the Albanian government has become the guarantor of the Tirana incinerator.

The state bought the land with Albanian taxpayers’ money and made it available to the ghost project that would be built on a 100% public land.

"Sharra landfill, where the imaginary project of the waste incinerator was planned to be built, was 60% under state ownership. According to the feasibility study of the Ministry of Environment, almost 39% of the land where the concession of the incinerator was expected to extend was privately owned.

The Albanian state became a guarantor of Zoto's company by acquiring the private 39% with citizens' money, which means that the entire ghost project would be built on a 100% public plot of land”, said the statement.
