Former Premier Sali Berisha welcomed Italian Ambassador Alberto Cutillo in his office, to talk about the political situation in Albania.
Mr. Berisha thanked Ambassador Cutillo for Italy’s help to Albania in all the democratic processes and supporting the cause of free elections.
The Democrat legendary leader underlined that whoever would like to make an objective evaluation of the opposition protest is pleased to have a glance on the OSCE/ODIHR report on the local elections of 2015.
“The reports, via incontestable evidence, expose the powerful influence of drugs money and crime in the elections results, the purchase of votes, control on media and inequality among parties in every aspect”, Berisha said, adding that today, two years later, any of these factors not only has not improves but has indeed worsened at least four- or fivefold.
Berisha told Cutillo Albania is covered from cannabis, because this is Rama’s undeclared policy for his electoral goals and that is an important reason for the opposition to request e caretaker cabinet to guarantee a fair electoral process.
Former Premier and President of Albania responded to Ambassador Cutillo’s interest in the Judiciary Reform saying that the opposition is deeply interested to contribute for the Reform, but Edi Rama tore the agreement of 21 July 2016, according to which the Constitution amendments, relevant laws and the Reform would be voted consensually.
