The Independent Qualification Commission (KPK) has dismissed the Prosecutor of Durrës, Arjan Ndoja, who failed to pass the vetting process.

During the vetting sessions, Ndoja had asked for a verification of Albanian Premier Edi Rama’s phone records because he has had contacts with criminal individuals.

“Since my phone records were obtained through phone calls, contacts, political subjects, let they do the same for a subject I have been investigating and had direct communication with the Prime Minister”, Ndoja said to the vetting judges.

He did not specify who the person under investigation that communicated directly with Edi Rama was, neither which investigative file it was.

Prosecutor Arjan Ndoja survived an attempt on his life on November 1, 2019, when the car he was moving in the Durrës-Tirana highway was attacked with a barrage of bullets. Ndoja remained wounded whereas his chauffeur was dead.
