The historic leader of the Albanian Democrats Sali Berisha sent a message of unification to all the party members, guaranteeing them that the Democratic Party will be open to all discussions and debates. Speaking about the negotiations for the re-unification of the party after disgraced former chairman Lulzim Basha announced his resignation following the disaster in the mayoral by-election, Berisha said everything will be done to guarantee the unification through the free vote.

“The Democratic Party has its full institution that came out from December 11 Assembly, which is the Commission for the Re-founding. I judge that every debate can be made within the Democrat parliamentary group. I want to note that the Bashism was a doctrine of violation of the party Statute, institutions, and principles. It has been archived with Basha’s resignation”, said Berisha.
