Democrat MP and Chairman of the Commission for the Re-founding of the Democratic Party Belind Këlliçi said the April 30 Assembly is the only way for the reunification of the Democrats.

Speaking on the Opinion TV show, Këlliçi said an exemplar electoral process for the party chairperson will start after the Assembly and former disgraced chairman Lulzim Basha is free to run if he thinks he can win the race against the historic leader of the Albanian Democrats Sali Berisha.

“The only way of the reunification is for all of us to go to the April 30 Assembly, including Berisha’s critics, all the Democrats. Let’s have an exemplary electoral process, let us elect the new structures through a transparent process and who wins more votes let lead the Democratic Party. This is no rocket science. No doubt, Basha may go and run, there’s no problem. If you want to make Berisha go, beat him through the election but we can’t have Basha running for the chair and the majority not”, Këlliçi said.
