Former Albanian Premier Sali Berisha had a conversation with Italian conservative party Fratelli d’Italia MPs and with important entrepreneurs of northeastern Italy focusing on the restoration of the conservative values in the Albanian Democratic Party. During the conversation, Berisha told how US billionaire George Soros seized the most important reforms in Albania after 2013.

“We are making all efforts to restore the political pluralism in the country, because the former chairman of the Democratic Party (Lulzim Basha) has turned out to be a hostage of the Albanian government. We are determined to restore the real opposition to the country, an opposition that we consider as vital for a democratic system. We have decided to restore the conservative values to our party, the values on which this party was founded”, said Berisha.

Fratelli d’Italia MP Walter Rizzeto said his party and the Albanian Democratic Party must start a long phase of cooperation because they are based on the same values. Rizzeto commended Berisha’s role in the recent movement in the Democratic Party.

“I think Mr. Berisha has a very important task before him, representing in a very important way the free Albanian citizens that wish a free Democratic Party”, Rizzeto said.
