The Democratic Party’s official newspaper has chosen former Chairman Sali Berisha as the Man of the Year 2021.

Rilindja Demokratike (The Democratic Renaissance) highlighted that Berisha and his movement Foltorja (a talking tour across the country) restored hope among Democrats and Albanian citizens.

It said Foltorja was the biggest opposition movement since December 1990 when the Democratic Party was founded.

“The Democrats have returned as hope for the country that has been seized by the State Party”, the newspaper wrote.

Berisha said a difficult year is closing as a year of hope because the Democrats and Albanians finally have a more powerful opposition. The former Prime Minister promised the new year will be a better one.
