Historic leader of the Democratic Party Sali Berisha said in a press conference today the disgraced chairman Lulzim Basha was accused of money laundering but Premier Edi Rama helped him close the file.

Berisha declared the Special Structure against Corruption (SPAK) did send Basha’s dossier for recourse in the High Court, saying Rama shut their mouths.

“Basha has big problems with justice, extraordinary problems, not only with the Albanian justice, but with Belgian justice as well. However, until proven guilty by a court of law, the presumption of innocence applies to MP Basha too”, said Berisha, who no longer addresses to Basha as the party chairman after the National Assembly called by him decided to discharge Basha.

“SPAK did not send Basha’s file over money laundering to the High Court, (Secretary General of the Council of Ministers) Agaçi closed it and the file wasn’t sent to the High Court per Rama’s order”.
