Historic leader of the Albanian Democratic Party Sali Berisha said his movement for the re-foundation of the party started because Lulzim Basha’s opposition had become one with the government.

Berisha also commented the decision of the US Secretary of State Antony Blinken to declare him non grata over significant corruption, repeating there was no evidence to back that decision. The Democrat leader appealed to Blinken to lift the ban against him and his family, saying it was a mistake.

He added the Democratic Party’s orientation is Euro-Atlantic and assured the West he will not allow any Eastern influence in Albania.
