Former Albanian Premier Sali Berisha spoke about the decision of US Secretary of State Antony Blinken to ban him from entering the United States, repeating the decisions was not based on facts and blaming US billionaire George Soros.

Berisha addressed to thousands of participants in the National Assembly for the Re-Foundation of the Democratic Party speaking about a “brutal intervention of diplomats and officials from a friendly country, the United States”.

“I’d like to tell these officials we are an ancient nation. In our history, only a few had do deal more than us with the superpowers of the times from antiquity to today. The Soviet Union, as President Reagan defined genially, was the Evil Empire. United States is the opposite, the Empire of Freedom and Values. The great country of freedom has done more than anyone else for the freedom of Albanians”.

“It’s painful to say the US Ambassador acts like a governor, exactly like the Soviet Ambassadors once in Tirana. What happened all these years? The unimaginable happened. At the peak of Albania’s covering with narcotics with the police collaboration, the representative of the great country of freedom complimented the police for their successful fight on illegal drugs. At the peak of corruption, the representative of the great country holds speeches in support of the narco-government and attacks from morning till dusk the opposition”, Berisha said, referring to US Ambassador Yuri Kim.

“Aren’t these double standards? Do they come from the rule of law of the United States? No, they come from George Soros’ mafia. Even worse, one day in May of this year, the Department of State declared Sali Berisha non grata, eight years after the resignation of the man that was commended more than anyone else by the United States for his fight against corruption; a man that had not a single accusation against himself or his family for corruption; a man that had done everything against corruption even in opposition. A man that 31 years ago, under the lead of this party, had overthrown the most Stalinist dictatorship in Europe was declared non grata”.
