Democratic Party Chairman Lulzim Basha met residents of the Kombinat neighborhood in Tirana today, telling them what he will do in the capacity of the country’s future Prime Minister for the reconstruction of buildings damaged by the earthquake of November 26, 2019. Basha said Edi Rama’s government has turned the reconstruction project into a scheme of embezzlement and abuse.

The opposition leader promised his government will accelerate work for the reconstruction.

"They see the reconstruction as an opportunity to steal people, as an opportunity to fill their pockets. I guarantee you that the next government will have experts that will accelerate and end the stalling of the process for all the families affected by the earthquake according to their demands, not according to the plans of the oligarchs and thieves.

April 25 is a day of change for everyone and it is a day of victory for the families affected by the earthquake. We will make the process transparent, we will speed it up. We will put an end to your ordeal of suffering ", Basha told Kombinat residents.
