The students of the Albanian public universities continue their protests against the government and today conflicted with Tirana’s Mayor Erion Veliaj in a meeting at the Students’ Town in Tirana.

Veliaj was seen smiling and praising the students that were present in the meeting when member of the Movement for the University entered the room and denounced his lies about the reconstruction of the dormitories and also reminded him the death of teenager worker Ardit Gjoklaj. The accused the greed of Veliaj and the landfill company for the death of the teenager.

Gjoklaj, 17 at the time of his death, died when he was accidentally hit while working in Tirana’s landfill.

Veliaj’s bodyguards forced the protesting students out of the room and tried to take their smartphones away.
