Kafshohet nga nepërka me bri në Valbonë, turistja dokumenton minutë pas minute betejën për mbijetesë

Peripecitë e një turisteje të huaj në Alpet Shqiptare janë bërë virale në rrjetet sociale, pasi ajo ndau minutë pas minute betejën e saj për mbijetesë, pasi u kafshua nga nepërka me bri, gjarpri më helmues që gjendet në Shqipëri.

Amy, e cila prej tre vitesh e gjysmë jeton në Zelandën e Re, tregon se ngjarja ndodhi më 21 qershor, rreth orës 10:19, teksa po vraponte në një shteg malor pranë Valbonës.

Menjëherë pasi u kafshua, ajo filmoi gjarprin për ta identifikuar më vonë, u ul në shteg dhe telefonoi numrin e emergjencës 112. Për shkak të terrenit të vështirë dhe vështirësive në komunikim, ndihma nuk arriti ta lokalizonte menjëherë.

Më pas, Amy telefonoi babanë e saj në Australi, i cili i kërkoi të dërgonte vendndodhjen përmes aplikacionit What3Words, në mënyrë që të ndihmonte autoritetet të përcaktonin pozicionin e saj. Paralelisht, ajo kontaktoi edhe pronarin e një bujtine në Shkodër, i cili u lidh me autoritetet lokale përmes WhatsApp dhe bëri të mundur dërgimin e ambulancës në zonën ku ndodhej.

Gjatë pritjes, turistja tregon se fillimisht improvizoi gabimisht një turniket me rrobat e saj, por më vonë e hoqi dhe vendosi një fashim kompresiv rreth plagës, ndërsa qëndroi e palëvizshme sipas udhëzimeve që mori.

Ajo rrëfen se frika më e madhe ishte fakti se ishte kafshuar nga gjarpri më helmues në Shqipëri. Megjithatë, ajo që ka prekur më shumë ndjekësit në rrjetet sociale është mënyra se si e përballoi situatën. Mes dhimbjes, ankthit dhe pasigurisë, Amy vazhdoi të filmonte veten, të dokumentonte çdo moment dhe madje të bënte humor, duke u përpjekur të ruante qetësinë.

Në mesazhin e saj, ajo thekson se pa sinjalin e telefonit celular, ngjarja mund të kishte përfunduar ndryshe. Për këtë arsye, u bën thirrje të gjithë turistëve që eksplorojnë zona të thella malore të pajisen me pajisje emergjence si inReach ose Personal Locator Beacon (PLB), të shkarkojnë aplikacione për ndarjen e vendndodhjes si What3Words dhe të mbajnë gjithmonë me vete një çantë të përshtatshme të ndihmës së parë.

Në fund, Amy falënderon të gjithë ata që i erdhën në ndihmë, duke theksuar se reagimi i shpejtë i banorëve vendas dhe autoriteteve bëri të mundur shpëtimin e saj. Fatmirësisht, sot ajo është jashtë rrezikut dhe e ka kthyer këtë përvojë traumatike në një mesazh shprese: edhe në momentet më të vështira, nuk duhet humbur kurrë shpresa.

@_lecons On Sunday 21 June at 10:19 I was trail running near Valbonë in Albania when I was bitten by a European Nose-horned Viper. Here is a summarised snapshot of the events that followed with time stamps. I’ve been living in New Zealand the last 3.5 years so my knowledge of snakebite first aid in the moment was slightly hazy. I instantly filmed the snake for identification purposes, sat down on the trail and dialled 112 as this was the only line that I was able to call with my eSIM. Having no success with the operator and after they hung up on me, I called my dad in Australia who asked for my What3Words to give to Australian emergency services for Interpol. I then called a hostel owner in Shkodër who was able to assist by putting me in contact with local emergency authorities on WhatsApp (thank goodness for cell service) who gained my current location and dispatched an ambulance. In the meantime, I initially removed my socks and singlet to create a makeshift tourniquet higher up on the limb but realised this was incorrect action and later removed this to provide compression around the area of the bite. I had been informed to stay immobilised, despite being on a section of a trail that would be tricky to reach.  Without cell service, this could have been a completely different outcome. Please travel with an inReach or PLB if you intend to be entering areas without internet coverage. After all that effort to remain immobilised for the hour that it took for emgency services to arrive, my rescue was far from smooth sailing given I was still on the mountain. I have wondered if continuing to run down would have been more effective. Before hiking or travelling, take a few minutes to familiarise yourself with the first aid guidelines for the region you’re visiting, it could save a life. Movement can speed the spread of venom. 💍 Remove rings, watches and tight clothing from the affected limb before swelling develops. 🇦🇺 Australia Australian guidelines recommend Pressure Immobilisation because many Australian snake venoms spread through the lymphatic system. ✔️ Apply a firm pressure bandage starting over the bite. ✔️ Continue bandaging the entire limb. ✔️ Immobilise the limb with a splint. ✔️ Keep the person completely still. ✔️ Leave the bandage on until medical professionals remove it. ❌ Wash the bite ❌ Cut or suck the wound ❌ Apply a tourniquet 🌎 North America First aid recommendations differ. ✔️ Keep the person calm. ✔️ Remove jewellery and tight clothing. ✔️ Seek emergency medical care immediately. ❌ Pressure immobilisation is not routinely recommended for most North American pit viper bites. 🌍 Europe There is no single Europe-wide guideline.
