Sali Berisha, the leader of the Democratic Party, recently released video footage showcasing the failed assassination attempt on Salvator Kaçaj during the local elections on May 14. Although both Kaçaj and Berisha strongly condemned the failed attempt, it was met with denial by the authorities. Prime Minister Edi Rama went even further, defending the alleged assassins while accusing the opposition leader and Kaçaj of orchestrating a fabricated incident. Today's video represents one of the most compelling pieces of evidence regarding the pressures and attacks that marred the May 14 elections, all seemingly under the protection of Prime Minister Edi Rama.

The images depict the unsuccessful assassination attempt on Salvator Kaçaj that occurred on the day of the May 14 elections in Lezhë. Sali Berisha, in an extraordinary press conference, denounced the incident. However, the authorities vehemently denied its occurrence.

Today, Berisha released video footage capturing the assassination attempt on Salvator Kaçaj, who narrowly escaped the masked assailants, thanks to the quick reaction of his driver.

While Salvator Kaçaj and opposition leader Sali Berisha denounced the assassination attempt, directly implicating Mayor Pjerin Ndreu of Lezha and Minister Ulsi Manja, both linking the attack to political motivations stemming from the May 14 elections, it was Prime Minister Edi Rama who came to the defense of the alleged assassins.

At that time, Edi Rama, speaking from Lezha, defended the individuals responsible for the attack and dismissed the event as a fabrication by Salvator Kaçaj.

Five months have elapsed since the assassination attempt, yet neither the police nor the prosecutor's office have launched investigations or identified any suspects in connection with this incident that nearly claimed the life of former Shëngjin mayor Salvator Kaçaj. Following Prime Minister Edi Rama's denial of the attack, law enforcement agencies have ceased their efforts to clarify this grave incident, leaving the perpetrators of this crime at large.
