Former Interior Minister Saimir Tahiri, in the capability of the chairman of Tirana’s branch of the Socialist Party (PS) has reacted after the incident in Vorë and the accusations of the Socialist Movement for Integration (LSI).

Tahiri called Ilir Meta “a barking dog that does not bite”. Tirana’s PS branch called the Socialist militants to keep calm in front of the LSI provocations.

“We express our remorse for the tense situation created by President-elect Ilir Meta in Vorë, starting from yesterday and continuing today. Ilir Meta has engaged a network of people with criminal records to provoke the people of the area. They are the same people that transformed Vorë in a place of gathering of ordinary mercenaries of Ilir Meta in the last local elections”, the declaration says.

“The Socialist Party branch of Tirana appeals to the citizens of Vlora to participate massively in the elections and remember the saying “a barking dog never bites”. Do not fall prey to the provocations of the despaired Ilir Meta and consider his threats as signs of disequilibrium of a politician that does not know how to live without power”.
