EU Delegation head in Tirana Romana Vlahutin is under investigation in Brussels, suspected for abuse with EU funds and violation of recruiting rules.

A well-informed source from an EU country embassy in Tirana confirmed the news for Hashtag.al.

EU’s European Anti-Fraud Office (OLAF) is officially investigating Ms. Vlahutin.

A high official of OLAF met Albanian Attorney General Adriatik Llalla in Brussels, but unlike the media reports, Llalla sent no file there but was invited in a consulting session.

Llalla was in another EU country when OLAF contacted and invited him to Brussels. OLAF officials asked Mr. Llalla to provide information he had on some aspects of the activity of EU office in Tirana.

“The claims Mr. Llalla delivered a file at OLAF are inaccurate, because for weeks now OLAF is investigating a voluminous file on Ms. Vlahutin and the mission”, the diplomatic source told Hashtag.al.
