The Italian Prosecution Office has issued a Detention Order for the Albanian Woman who abandoned her husband and her two little daughters, to join ISIS in Sirya, bringing along her young son. Her name is Valbona Berisha.

Valbona Berisha, a resident in the Barzago commune in the region of Lombardia, is accused for kidnapping . On December 17^th 2014, the 33 year old together with her 6 year old son,  left to Syria to join the War of the Islamic State ISIS. Afrim Berisha, the husband has filed the request for getting his son back around a year ago.

Her husband Afrim Berisha, lives in Italy since 1995, making a living as a construction worker. They have 3 kids, two daughters and one son.

He declared to the Italian authorities that on December 17^th 2014, when he went back home for lunch, he found no sign of his wife and son.

Several days later, in January 2015, he received a message from his wife Valbona that she and her son are now in Syria and have joined the ideals of the Islamic State war. In another message she also sends three pictures of her son reassuring him that they are fine. Afrim, with the help of an Albanian friend of his depart to Turkey in order to trace down and take back his son but in the border with Syria they are stopped and sent back by a post-block of ISIS fighters.

Afrim Berisha tries again a trip to Syria, with the determination to pay even 180 000 Euro in exchange for his son. Money fundraised with the help and benevolence of his friends and relatives. No result this time either.

According ti the inquiry Valbona Berisha and her 6 year old son has departed from the “Orio al Serio” airport in Bergamo, to Istanbul and then to Syria.

Three years ago, Valbona was covered in Hijab. The neighbors in Barzago depict the Berisha couple as “a family of muslim culture but not Jihadists”.

The relatives of the Berishas say that everything started through the internet, when Valbona made contact with the Islamic Caliphate fighters and than she was pursued to abandon everything  and take along her 6 year old son. Living thus the two girls of age 8 and 10 to Afrim.

According to terrorism experts the boys of this age are favorite to ISIS because they can be brainwashed, trained an prepared for fighting the Islamic Kaliphate. Now it’s more than a year since Afrim Berisha last got in touch with his wife Valbona and his son.
