Pollster company GFK, one of four biggest market research companies in the world, has observed the conduct of Albanian electors for the general elections of June 25.

GfK realized three public polls in the period May-June 2017, as part of a research to follow in time the development of likings and the political behavior of the voters during the electoral campaign.

The last poll took place in June 15-18 and measured the vote preference. 996 voters from the whole Albania were asked via phone for the subject they’d vote for and for their party affiliations.

The Democratic and the Socialist parties are almost equal, with a slight advantage of the Democrats. According to the poll results, one week before the elections, 31.4% of the interviewed would vote for PD, and 31.1% for PS. The Socialist Movement for Integration would take the votes of 6% of the electors, while PDIU 1.2%.

Even though the elections day is approaching, there is a high number of hesitating people, 20.3%, who have decided to vote but don’t know yet whom to give their vote to.

The undetermined are also shared almost equally in their preferences for the two biggest parties, 14.4% for PS and 13.9 for PD. 58.4% of them continue to have no preference.

The Democratic Party has priority among the age group of 8 – 34 years, while the majority of PS voters are over 55 years. LSI has its biggest base in the electorate that belongs to the age group 23 – 44 years old.
