Democratic Party Chairman Sali Berisha commented the outcome of the mayoral election in the Democrat stronghold Shkodër in north Albania, won by the Socialist Party candidate.

“Shkodra voted under an actual invasion”, Berisha said in a press conference today.

“(Democrat candidate) Bardh Spahia was 14-16 points ahead in all the pre-election surveys, included those conducted from our opponents. Shkodra is the ugliest example of voting like under siege from Edi Rama’s gangs. Tens of millions of Euros were used in Shkodra, but I am convinced the citizens will never accept the power of crime”.

The former Prime Minister also spoke about his future, guaranteeing he will not quit his political career and fight against the Socialist majority.

“Whoever thinks that Sali Berisha will quit in front of crime, they are watching their ears without a mirror. I will never back of in the face of gangs of state and non-state crime. This is my answer to you”, said Berisha.
