The Albanian Supreme Audit Institution (KLSH) has found numerous violations and abuses with an economic damage over €1 billion for the period January-September 2022.

KLSH reported that at the end of the audits carried out during the period January - September 2022, it has discovered irregularities and financial violations resulting in economic damage in income and expenses in the total amount of 47 billion Albanian Leks (ALL). Taxes bear the main weight with ALL45 billion, with Customs ALL846 million, in the field of sale-purchase and leasing of state property ALL421 million.

For the same period, KLSH has identified violations of financial discipline with a negative impact on the performance of the administration of income, expenses and the use of public funds in the total value of ALL74 billion.

In total, for the period January - September 2022, at the end of 120 audits, KLSH has given opinions for 97 of them, out of which: 26 financial opinions for financial audits, 315 compliance opinions for compliance audits and 40 are financial opinions and compliance.
