The Albania Committee of Experts met today, one day prior to the opposition rally in Tirana, to discuss about the Covid-19 situation in the country and new recommendations.

The deputy Minister of Health Mira Rakacolli said there is an increase in the number of new infections after a period of stability that led to the lift of all restrictions in the country. However, Rakacolli said the Committee of Experts for the moments will not recommend any measure other than the calls for vaccinations and the use of masks indoors.

Dr. Silva Bino said the vaccination has not made progress in Albania, with only 46% taking the primary doses, whereas the administration of booster doses has been very low.
