Chairwoman of the Socialist Movement for Integration Monika Kryemadhi pointed her finger at former Democratic Party Chairman Lulzim Basha as one of the culprits for the serious political situation in Albania. Premier Edi Rama is the main one to blame, but Kryemadhi put a big part of the blame on Basha, saying she did not fail with making opposition but was backstabbed by the disgraced former Democrat chairman.

Speaking to host Ilir Babaramo on the TV show “5 questions from Babaramo” on Report TV, Kryemadhi also said she has no knowledge of her husband President Ilir Meta’s plans once his mandate expires on July 24.

“I don’t know Meta’s plans after he leaves the President’s Office. I did not fail with making opposition; I was backstabbed by my fellow warrior. Basha’s betrayal brought Albania in this situation. It could have been different had we not relinquished our MP mandates and boycotted the local election (of 2019). Opposition is made with alternatives and programs”, Kryemadhi said.

She also commented Democratic Party Chairman Sali Berisha’ designation by the US Department of State saying it is a private matter of his with DOS.

“It’s a personal matter, between Berisha and DOS, I’m not interested in that, I am interested in the money that is used to buy out votes. I am not entitled to say whether the Democratic Party needs a restructuration and who will lead it”.

In the end, Kryemadhi spoke about Tirana’s incinerator, denouncing a $189 million evasion, revealing she will sue 24 companies in SPAK, the Albanian Special Structure against Corruption and Organized Crime.
