The Transparency Board established by the Albanian government has set an all-time high price of oil, 258 Lek per liter. Deputy Chairman of the Socialist Movement for Integration (LSI) Petrit Vasili said this is a “criminal price” and compared it to prices in the neighboring North Macedonia, where the oil price per liter is equal to 196 Albanian Lek.

Vasili wrote the reason for the difference in prices comes from the fact that Albania has a predatory government, whereas North Macedonia has a responsible one.

“A criminal price of oil! The Robbery Board set the oil price at 258 Lek per liter. Today, in North Macedonia, it is (equal to) 196 Lek per liter. In Albania, oil costs 62 Lek per liter more than in North Maceonia. The North Macedonia has no harbors or sea coasts, it doesn’t produce oil either. The difference is only one: In Albania there is a predatory government that has become one with the oligarchs, whereas in North Macedonia they have a responsible government”, wrote Vasili.
