Democratic Party Chairman Sali Berisha has called for the immediate termination of the Transparency Board created by the government with the task of setting fuel prices after the start of energy crisis following the Russian invasion of Ukraine.

Berisha said the board is anti-constitutional and a tool in Edi Rama’s hands in a time when the fuel prices in Albania has soared like nowhere else in Europe.

“Only the citizens pay the price of these corruptive government bodies created with the sole intention of dictating stratospheric fuel prices so that the government and its clients can steal as much as possible”, Berisha said in a press conference today.

“I require the immediate termination of their activity; I require and appeal to the board members to resign, not to transform themselves into anti-constitutional tools of a government that is universally known as a criminal organization”.
