Former Albanian Premier Pandi Majko has returned to the parliament receiving the place left vacant by former Socialist Party MP Alqi Bllako. The latter was arrested over charges of abuse of office and corruption in relation to the waste incinerator contracts.

It is understood Majko has submitted the form of decriminalization to the Central Electoral Commission (KQZ). After the verification from KQZ, Majko will receive the MP mandate.

Majko has served for a long time as a Member of the Parliament for the Socialist Party and also had a stint as Prime Minister in 1998-1999 in addition to several ministerial posts, but lost in the general election last year and will return to the parliament only after Bllako’s arrest.
