Chairwoman of the Socialist Movement for Integration (LSI) Monika Kryemadhi reacted after the arrests ordered by the Special Prosecution against Corruption (SPAK) related to the waste incinerators.

Kryemadhi repeated the accusation she had made earlier that the incinerator money came from Malta and was used to buy votes prior to the elections of April 25, 2021, won by Edi Rama’s Socialist Party.

“I’d like to remind to all the media reporters and journalists that I had denounced that incinerators’ money would come from Malta to be use for the April 25 elections. Soon you’ll get to be acquainted to that file, because that money was used for the massive buy-out of votes in the county of Durrës”, Kryemadhi said.

Speaking to reporters in a press conference, the LSI chairwoman praised her party for denouncing the corruptive affairs related to the waste incinerators and accused the inquiry commission of stalling and burying the truth.

“What is happening today with the investigation over the incinerators is a merit of the LSI and the files it handed over to SPAK. There were efforts with the inquiry commission to bury the truth of this affair, but I guarantee you it won’t be closed, we’ll take it to the end”, Kryemadhi promised. “This is a structured criminal group because the most important elements of the Albanian political life have been bought with that money”.
