The historic leader of the Albanian Democrats Sali Berisha has appealed to the citizens of the six municipalities where the mayoral by-election are taking place to go and participate in the process.
“Dear friends. Today is the election day for the mayors of Shkodra, Durrës, Lushnja, Peshkopi, Vora, and Rrogozhina", Berisha wrote on his Facebook page.
"I appeal to the residents of these areas to participate in the elections. God bless you and your free votes!”
Berisha and the Commission for the Re-founding of the Democratic Party are backing the candidates that run under the logo of the House of Freedom coalition.
Latest polls showed they will be winners in most of the six municipalities.
