Albanian President Ilir Meta decreed today the Law on the Ratification of the Agreement between the Republic of Albania and the United Kingdom of Great Britain and North Ireland on the transferring of the convicted persons.

The announcement of the President’s office said the new agreement will simplify the procedures for transferring convicted persons from one country to the other and will strengthen the international cooperation in the field of penal justice between Albania and UK.

Currently, there are 1580 convicted persons that would be able to transfer in the countries of their origin in the function of their social re-integration.
