Democratic Party Chairman Lulzim Basha risks losing his MP mandate, according to the Law on Decriminalization if it is proved he has made fake declarations in the form of decriminalization. In the declaration form deposited at the Central Electoral Commission prior to the elections, the Democrat chairman has hidden the penal process opened by the Belgian justice over his role in the investigative file “Toyota Yaris”, exposed on Thursday on Çim Peka Live on Syri TV.

Basha results a person of interest since April 2020, but it has not been declared in his form of declaration at the institution that runs and organizes the elections in Albania. Jurists say the hiding of criminal data – if proved – can make Basha a subject of Article 190 of the Albanian Penal Code and send him before justice.
