Kosovo President Hashim Thaçi has insisted in a land swap with Serbia in the meeting with German MP Peter Beyer telling him he is the one that decides over the question. Kosovo daily newspaper reports about the meeting, quoting Beyer as saying that when he told Thaçi a land swap presented a high risk, Thaçi responded: I am the president, I decide.
The German MP said the Parliament of Kosovo is the main institution that should decide for such issues. According to him, the normalization of the relations with Serbia needs a permanent solution.
Thaçi on the other hand has not mentioned his reaction in his Facebook post after the meeting, saying only “we are grateful for the German support in the process of the establishment of the state of Kosovo”.
“Germany continues to support the process of Kosovo’s membership in the international organizations”, Thaçi writes.
