Democratic Party Chairman Sali Berisha said Prime Minister Edi Rama is making efforts to exclude the opposition from the upcoming mayoral elections, but his efforts will be in vain because “we will expel you from Albania”.

“What is the purpose of this revolution? It is the reversal of monism based on crime, drugs, theft and looting of Albanians. Never in history has a man stolen this nation the way Edi Rama has done in collusion with his criminal organization”, Berisha addressed to thousands of protesters outside the prime ministry building in the Albanian capital Tirana.

“In a time when your children emigrate, the evil Prime Minister puts behind this building a €4 million vase, which would be enough to buy medicine for all Albanian pensioners for a month. In a time when you and your families hardly enjoy weddings, birthdays, and other holidays because you have no money, this crime-minister flies around on board of his jet, spending €22 million for charter flights.

Stealing money is not the biggest problem of this unrestrained thief. Stealing our future is his most macabre act. In eight years, 35 percent of Albanians left the country. In eight years, each of us has lost a third of our loved ones to other countries. At these rates, Albania is heading towards depopulation and extinction. And he thinks he will live somewhere in the Caribbean or on the hot islands of the Indian Ocean. We are here to tell him: Edi Rama, today you have money, you have banks, you have everything. But nothing can defeat the ideals of these citizens. Nothing can defeat the ideals of this revolution”.

“He wants to annihilate the Democratic Party. He believes he will exclude us from the elections. Edi Rama, we will expel you from Albania! The revolution has a great mission for democracy, freedom and Albanians’ salvation”.
