Albanian Prime Minister Edi Rama appeared to the parliament today for the motion with debate over his affair with former FBI top officer Charles McGonigal. Rama started his address in the plenary session with insults against the opposition, using derogatory terms like “sewage” and “excrements”.

“For weeks now, a sewage eruption has been taking place in Albania in an attempt to exploit for political gain a judicial process in the United States that has nothing to do with Albania, the Government of Albania, or me personally”, said Rama.

“What actually happened: A former FBI official is accused of unlawful collaboration with the Russian oligarch Deripaska. According to them, the prosecutors have pointed out a series of violations related to the trips to our country, where in the indictment it is said that he also came to Albania and met with me. The indictment says that he did not declare his meetings with me and borrowed money. The indictment also speaks about the issue of investigations of Russian money in the Democratic Party. The process has not indicted anyone besides that person. These are the facts. But despite a long investigation that I found out about only when it appeared in the media, there is no accusation against me except for the correct reporting of the meetings with me”.
