Former Albanian President Ilir Meta declared the opposition will win the majority of the municipalities in the mayoral elections of May 14. Meta, now chairman of the Freedom Party, said on Çim Peka Live on Syri TV that the opposition coalition led by the Democratic Party will win the capital Tirana and other major cities like Durrës and Elbasan.

“May 14 will be an extraordinary triumph of the citizens, of the ones that have been maltreated most cruelly in the last four years; the ones that didn’t have even a councilor to raise their concerns, the ones that were stolen and were treated arrogantly from the Socialists. It will be an extraordinary triumph in Tirana, Durrës, Elbasan, and in most of Albania’s municipalities”, said Meta.
