Democratic Party Chairman Sali Berisha said Premier Edi Rama is no longer legitimate after the backstabbing act against the United States with the McGonigal case. Rama paid to corrupt the former FBI Special Agent in Charge of counterterrorism in the New York field office and used him for political gain, to attack the opposition and also lobbied to have his predecessor Berisha designated by the US Secretary of State Antony Blinken.

“Edi Rama is the only Prime Minister that is mentioned 14 times in this scandal for corrupting one of the agents of the most powerful counterterrorism agencies of the planet and using him as a sicario against Albania’s pro-West opposition”, said Berisha.

“Is there a more serious attempt than this against a country’s democracy? Is there bigger shame than this act for Albania? Once Albania made the headlines for the great welcome reserved to the President of the United States (George W. Bush in 2007), today it makes the headlines because its head of the government corrupts the chief of FBI counterterrorism, our most strategic partner, the leader of the North Atlantic Alliance”.

“Once Albania was in the news for its NATO accession, today because its Prime Minister equals to a Russian oligarch, Putin’s crony, a nest of the Russian criminal services”, said Berisha, calling for Rama’s resignation.

“After the treacherous act against the biggest ally of the Albanian nation, the United States of America, Edi Rama is no longer legitimate as Prime Minister”.
