Albanian citizens have responded en masse to the oppositions call and have rallied outside the prime ministry building in the capital Tirana’s main boulevard. The citizens are calling for Premier Edi Rama’s resignation in the wake of McGonigal scandal in the United States. The former FBI senior officer has received bribes from persons close to the Albanian Premier, which he has met personally during his visits in Tirana.

The protesters hold US flags and banners in Albanian and English, with an appeal addressed to the international community: Stop helping a corrupter!

The indictment in the United States alleges Charles McGonigal and his FBI connections were used by Edi Rama to harm the Albanian opposition.
