The historic leader of the Albanian Democrats Sali Berisha commented the situation created in the Democratic Party where everyone is demanding disgraced chairman Lulzim Basha’s resignation.

“This will be the spring of the great efforts of democracy for its triumph. The most excellent message is the union of Democrats around the free vote and freedom ideals”, Berisha said today in Elbasan where he received a rockstar-like welcome from the locals.

Asked about some suggestions about his departure besides Basha’s from the Democratic Party, Berisha said: “I am defending nothing but the free vote. There are efforts to invent a confrontation between the free vote and the bluff, but their bluff has been called”.
