Chairwoman of the Socialist Movement for Integration (LSI) Monika Kryemadhi responded to Tirana’s Mayor Erion Veliaj after he mentioned her name during his testimony before the parliamentary inquiry commission for the waste incinerators affair. Kryemadhi has been one of the main denouncers of corruption affairs with incinerators of Tirana, Elbasan, and Fier.

"This is the decision of the City Council. I come prepared and do not listen to Monica on TV to become a laughing stock. Monica throws a stone to the river and all the wise people rush behind it”, Veliaj said.

Kryemadhi reacted immediately after.

“Erion Veliaj understands very well the competences of the City Council. He knows that the Council’s approval is necessary even for 3,000 Lek. Look at how he said it, that as a Mayor he could not approve economic aids without the City councilors. So, he needs the Council for 3,000 Lek, but he does not need its approval for payments for a 30-year-old concession. SPAK, are you listening”, Kryemadhi wrote, addressing to the Special Structure against Corruption (SPAK).
