The Albanian Constitutional Court overturned today President Ilir Meta’s claims in the session reviewing his dismissal from the Parliament. Meta’s adviser Bledar Dervishaj said the judges are in conflicts of interests and must withdraw because they cannot guarantee a neutral review of the case.
The Constitutional Court declared none of the judges had offered a resignation request.
Meta also accused Fiona Papajorgji of serious professional and ethical breaches during her ruling of the case involving the disputed legitimacy of the 2019 elections.
Meanwhile, Judge Perparim Kalo was accused of being publicly exposed for his impartiality while also casting doubts on his appointment which according to Meta’s defense, was conducted without a fair race.
