Albanian Premier Edi Rama does not see the police brutality against citizens at the 5 Maji neighborhood in Tirana as violence but only as “exercising of law”.

Asked by Syri TV reporter Ambrozia Meta regarding the police brutality against the citizens that protested against the demolition of their houses and livelihood, Rama responded that was not violence.

By the other hand, he declared the brutality will appear whenever the government deems as necessary. “There will be repeated views whenever someone will put their personal interests before the public interest”, said Rama.

“Anytime there are residents that do that the police will go there to do their job. It is not violence, but exercising the force of law to anyone that goes against the state”.
