Journalist Elvi Fundo attacked: It was because of my profession

Albanian journalist Elvi Fundo, who is a known critic to the government, has been physically attacked today by two unidentified persons. He was sent to the Military Hospital in Tirana to take care of the wounds.

Fundo, who runs the online portal citynews.al, told his version of the incident.

“I was walking when two persons attacked me. I do not know them and why they did it”, Fundo told Syri.net.

“It all has to do with my job as a journalist. I have left everything up to the police to investigate the event. I’d like to thank my staff, who has been close to me”.
