Albanian Minister of Infrastructure and Energy Belinda Balluku announced today the suspensions of flights and cruises to and from Italy.
Speaking in press conference, Balluku asked for cooperation from the Italian embassy in Tirana in case of requests to retrieve the Italian nationals currently in Albania. She said it should be done through empty aircrafts and ferryboats coming from Italy.
“If the embassy decides, it will be necessary for empty airplanes and ferries from Italy to make possible the retrieval of Italian nationals in Albania. The airplanes and ferries personnel will be controlled by teams of the ministry of health”, Balluku said.
The minister added the suspension is valid only for travelers’ flights of cruises, whereas the goods transport will continue under added sanitary measures in harbors and the airport.
