The chairman of the parliamentary group of the Socialist Movement for Integration (LSI) Petrit Vasili said today the country is on the brink of a financial catastrophe due to the huge public debt, which the government is keeping hidden. He added the Prosecution Office is committing a crime since it is not investigating this secret of the government.

“The economy is falling into a financial abyss because the government has a clear strategy of ruining the economy and getting rich for itself”, Vasili told media reporters in a press conference.

“The government declares the public debt is 70% while a constitutional organ like the Supreme State Audit has verified it is 72%”. The Prosecution Office is in a critical position. Despite many public warnings for this issue, it has been ignoring it and is committing a state crime. When a constitutional organ reports debt figures that the government hides we are facing an economic crime of scary dimensions which affects not only one or a few individuals but the whole country”.
