Edi Rama lashed out again this morning, unleashing a stream of insults at the opposition over the IBAR report.

In a lengthy post, Rama claims the opposition lied about the approval of the IBAR, even though the report was in fact blocked for four months, unlike Montenegro, where it was approved immediately.

Despite the report being approved with very strict conditions against his governance, Rama continues to blame the opposition.

“They said the negotiations were blocked.

They said Albania was punished.

They said Europe woke up and the narco-regime was exposed.

They took to the streets with Molotov cocktails to burn Albania in the eyes of foreigners. They went around Europe with sacks of mud and filth to smear Albania in the eyes of foreigners. They deceived themselves as always and misled the ever-fewer people who follow that line of thinking,” Rama wrote.

In reality, the news that the IBAR report was not passing due to objections from several EU countries, led by Germany, was first reported by foreign media and journalists accredited in Brussels.

It was specifically Radio Free Europe that reported the blockage was linked to Edi Rama’s decision to defend Belinda Balluku and himself.

In an article titled “The issue on which the EU makes no compromise with Albania, Montenegro and Serbia,” it states: “The latest challenge concerns the refusal of members of the Albanian Parliament to lift the immunity of former Deputy Prime Minister Belinda Balluku, who is accused of corruption.

Lawmakers from the ruling Socialist Party have refused to strip her of immunity, and the decision has been welcomed by Prime Minister Edi Rama himself, who said Parliament had done ‘what any democratic state in Europe would do.’

Brussels did not agree with Rama’s claim that the request to lift immunity was not in line with the Constitution.

Radio Free Europe has learned that this has directly influenced the reluctance of some member states to grant Albania a so-called positive IBAR.”

It should be recalled that Radio Free Europe is a US government-funded media outlet. It has been a key US instrument in the fight against the communist bloc.
