Responding to journalists’ questions during a press conference, Democratic Party leader Sali Berisha declared that “Edi Rama is permanently closing the EU’s doors to Albanians.”
“But this will never become reality,” he said.
Anisa Kadesha, RTSH: What will be the opposition’s strategy at the protest to be held in front of parliament, given that several MPs have publicly said they support remaining inside the parliament building?
Sali Berisha: The truth is that MPs have long expressed their determination to undertake even extreme actions, including a hunger strike, and nothing is ruled out.
However, every step must be taken at the right moment. I believe the voice of the sovereign people is the most important issue on the agenda.
The sovereign must speak, because what is happening to Albanians is unprecedented in history.
Let us recall just this: a man who for six consecutive months promised Albanians integration in 2027, integration in 2030, now that he has been caught red-handed like a thief, tells them that we do not need full integration.
And once again, for the citizens:
The editorial by patron Vučić and his servant Rama in the Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung must be clearly understood. These two leaders of what he described as the most dangerous criminal organizations in Europe are suggesting to the EU that they be granted only free trade and the funds of the growth process, claiming they do not seek voting rights and do not intend to meet the Copenhagen criteria or deliver the benefits that society should gain from EU membership, including social benefits and other areas.
Their only concern, he said, is their oligarchs. They pledge not to hold elections, because the Copenhagen criteria require free elections. They pledge to control the justice system, even though those criteria require an independent judiciary.
Therefore, Edi Rama is permanently closing the EU’s doors to Albanians, something I am deeply convinced will never become reality. Nothing will be able to stop Albanians on their difficult and sacrifice-filled journey toward full integration into the European Union.
