The opposition will once again take to the streets on Saturday afternoon at 6:00 p.m. The rally will focus on the government scandals tied to a series of investigations launched by SPAK, which have brought accusations against Belinda Balluku, recently dismissed from her post as Deputy Prime Minister, and for whom the Special Prosecution has sought arrest.
On Friday, Democrats held their final meetings to determine the organization and format of the protest.
Opposition leader Sali Berisha said on Wednesday: “We are now moving to different forms of protest, diversifying them, using creativity. New forms will be explored.”
In his recent media appearances, Berisha has predicted a large turnout for the rally.
The Democrats’ protest comes three days after Prime Minister Edi Rama reshuffled the government, removing Belinda Balluku and two other ministers, with the changes affecting a total of six cabinet positions.
This marks the opposition’s fourth protest this year, with its core demand unchanged: the resignation of Edi Rama and the formation of a technical government that would lead the country to early elections.
