Edi Rama made a controversial post on social media, pressuring the courts to convict opposition protesters.
The same individual who in recent days has been warning courts and prosecutors not to pursue Belinda Balluku, and indirectly himself, is now urging them to sentence protesters "without hesitation."
In his post, Rama again attacked opposition protesters and the opposition itself with insults, while signaling that, if he remains in power, the next elections would be an even greater farce.
"These are the homemade bombs used to attack, burn, and injure police officers last night, by the only political party in the democratic world that resorts to violence, and the second in the entire history of the world, after that of the infamous Robert Mugabe of Zimbabwe, to follow an over eighty-year-old man who is disgraced and delusional!
I hope justice delivers justice for the injured police officers and punishes without hesitation those carrying these weapons with deadly capacity!
As for the political fate of this new cycle of street outbursts on the boulevard, it will, as usual, be decided in next year's elections with an even more exemplary defeat than the previous ones, while we will continue without pause on the path toward Albania 2030 in the European Union," Rama wrote.
