Democratic leader Sali Berisha said during his communication with citizens that the Constitutional Court has rejected Prime Minister Edi Rama’s request, describing the decision as a clear refusal of what he called an attempted institutional “coup.”
Berisha stressed that the time has now come for opposition supporters to multiply their energy and commitment in order to carry the political battle through to the removal of Rama from power.
BERISHA: After nine hours, locked inside a hall, the Constitutional Court failed to reach a decision to approve Edi Rama’s request.
In this context, I commend the stance of those judges who, with courage, rejected a request that was tantamount to a coup against Albanians.
Of course, the court bears a serious fault because it gave Lubi Balluku more than two months to fabricate and falsify any document.
But as the saying goes, better late than never.
With that four-to-four split, at least the decision was that Edi Rama’s request was not approved and ended up in the trash.
In fact, together with Edi Rama himself, because it had nothing to do with LubiBalluku; it was about suspending Edi Rama from office. And he wanted to create a protective wall through the court.
This is a moment that shows the opposition’s supporters must multiply their energy and forces in this battle until Edi Rama is removed from power.
No Albanian should ever accept that, for the sake of enrichment through plunder by Edi Rama, his family, Lubi Balluku, and others, the European future of our children—our own European future, is trampled.
I remind you that, regardless of the reactions there have been, regardless of the criticism voiced by Edi Rama’s lobbyists or others, we warned in time that Albania under Edi Rama absolutely meets no criteria other than its geostrategic position.
Time proved us right.
Those who listened to these statements with skepticism, even with disapproval, were taken by surprise when they faced situations far more serious than we had anticipated.
As a result, some countries resorted to the nuclear option, never used since the founding of the EU: the total dismantling of the integration process with Albania.
But I am convinced that you will not allow this.
I am convinced that your peaceful uprising, the uprising of courageous Albanians, will restore the Constitution and the rule of law.
It will return the vote to Albanians, bring about a technical government, free elections, and the victory of the opposition.
